In 1547 Fernando De Gama, a young “Soldier of Fortune” from Portugal, set sail for the Orient in a bid to find the man that murdered his father and, with luck, selfsame numerous of his fellow countrymen,to generate his fortune. A vicious storm in the Indian ocean almost ended his plans when the remit he was on sank. The sole survivor, he was washed up on a tropical beach only to be captured by Arab slavers and taken to Ayutthaya in the kingdom of Siam where he was offered for sale as a slave. He is rescued from slavery when a beautiful young woman Maria, still from Portugal, living in Ayutthaya with her father, buys him from the Arabs and restores his freedom. Not suprisingly he falls for Maria and Maria him, lots to the chagrin of Maria’s Father. As an experienced soldier his services are soon in demand when the King of Siam declares war on a Northern renegade pretender and all of the Portuguese colony are press-ganged into the utility of the King. Predictably, Fernando’s judgment and gallantry in the heat of battle, gain favour with the King who commands him to be one of his honoured personal Guard onward with a new institute Thai friend of tremendous gallantry, Tong. Unbeknownst to the king, his beautiful but devious wife, Queen Sudachan, plots to kill him and allot her lover on the throne. The first attempt by the Queen to rid herself of the king fails and she enlists the services of Phillippe, who it transpires was the murderer of Fernando’s father. He in about-face organises another bed demoted attempt on the Kings life. As trusted guardians of the king, Fernando and Tong pioneer that Phillippe is involved but is killed pending an attempt to arrest him. They subsequently dig up that the perpetrator is the Queen but are to jammed to deliver the king who has already succumbed to her poison. The blame for the kings eradication is fostered upon Fernando and Tong who are arrested and forced to fight each other to the fatality for the amusement of Queen Sudachan and her lover, the new king. |

A young police officer, a local guide and his daughter follows the trail of a prison escapee, Nasor, into a mysterious forest with many hidden secrets, one of which directly relates to the death of Nasor’s father at the hands of the father of the officer. As the group ventures deeper into the forest, the eerie realm unleashes its spirits unto the intruders, killing them one by one. Still intent on bringing Nasor to justice, the officer relentlessly pursues the criminal in a race against time and the unseen forces of the ancient forest. |

The story is set in 1890s Siam. Jone Bang Fai (the Fireball Bandit) is a young Muay Thai warrior and rocketry expert who steals back water buffalo taken from poor Isan farmers by unscrupulous cattle raiders. He is also searching for a man with a tattoo who killed his parents. Meanwhile, a local nobleman, Lord Waeng, wants to create a market for the steam tractors he’s selling. So he hires a hulking convict, “The Thief”, to kill all the cattle traders and round up all the water buffalo for slaughter, depriving farmers of the draft animals they need to cultivate rice. Lord Waeng’s men are eventually pitted against Nai Hoi Sing, a cattle trader with supernatural martial arts powers and a tattoo on his chest. The tattoo gets Jone Bang Fai’s attention, and while the Thief is trying to steal Sing’s cattle herd, Jone Bang Fai tries to attack Sing, but is repelled. Lord Waeng then enlists Jone Bang Fai in a scheme to defeat Sing. To do so, they also need the help of the Black Wizard, who was once cursed by Sing so that he cannot withstand sunlight. The Black Wizard says the only way to defeat Sing and reverse his spells is to use the menstrual blood of a virgin – the Black Wizard’s daughter, E’Sao. |
